This evolving domain and its future impact on #Payments and #FinancialSecurity will be analysed and worked through in a new Emerging Payments Association Asia Work Group on Quantum-Safe Cryptography across ASEAN, with founding members PayPal IBM, HSBC, and Australian Payments Plus. The group was introduced and launched at Money20/20 Asia's panel session "Cracking the Code—The Race to Quantum Safe” with Ray Harishankar, Mary Ann Francis 🌟& Camilla Bullock. The workgroup will support a roadmap for quantum-safe cryptography adoption across the payments and banking landscape. With quantum computers gaining power, the threat to encryption standards like RSA grows. Organisations must transition to post-quantum cryptography to safeguard data against future quantum threats. The work group aims to outline requirements, identify dependencies, use cases, and develop a roadmap for implementing post-quantum networking, mitigating risks associated with future quantum computers. Currently, he serves as a Senior Information Technology Consultant at The World Bank, an Adjunct Researcher at the Center for Digital Society (CfDS), and an Information Technology Expert for the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Throughout his career, Tony has held key positions at major technology companies, including 11 years as the National Technology Officer at Microsoft, and 13 years at Cisco, where he served as the Director of Advanced Technology for Service Providers and Banking sectors. Prior to that, he worked at IBM for 5 years as a Computer Engineer for Telecommunication, Banking, and Manufacturing.
